Prayer at the feet of Lord Shiva:

“O Lord Mahesha, the ultimate Guru (from whom arises the Guru principle), wearer of Snakes
around the neck, from whose head flows the holy Ganga. Holder of the trident in the hand and by
whose side is Lady Gauri herself. O Rudra I am telling below the secrets of the Shaastra (science). I
“O Lord Mahesha, the ultimate Guru (from whom arises the Guru principle), wearer of Snakes bow to
Lord Shankara. I salute thee Lord Shashishekhara”

{Note: Mahesha (greatest amongst gods), Rudra (one who makes one cry/takes away one’s tears,
Shankara (auspicious/pure one) and Shashishekhara (one who wears Chandra on the top of his
head atop braided hair) are all names of Lord Shiva. Gauri is the name of Lord Shiva’s wife. The
author is asking blessings of Lord Shiva, who is creator of all Shastras, before he reveals secret of
Jyotish}

54 years as a fellow student of this divine science, in the hope that through these teachings others can learn this
divine science to provide light to people in need.
